A nonprofit independent bookstore is a retail bookstore which is independently owned not part of a retail chain - like Barnes and Noble.

Being a nonprofit indie bookstore means that profits from sales goes towards keeping the shop open and towards a good cause - The Sunflower Society Women’s Community Center. It's a win/win--you get affordable books, and you get to give back to your community.

We are located in Ocala, Florida in Marion County. Currently, we are negotiating our retail lease at a plaza located on E. Silver Springs Blvd.

Sunday - Thursday 10 AM to 6 PM

Friday - Saturday 10 AM to 8 PM

You can drop off your gently-used paperback and/or hardback books for adults, young adults and teens to us during business hours from 11 AM to 4 PM Sunday - Saturday.

According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), a taxpayer can deduct the fair market value of books. Fair market value is the price a willing buyer would pay for them. Value usually depends on the condition of the item. By law, a charity cannot tell you what your donated items are worth. This is something you must do yourself.
