Meet The Author - Lauren Groff
Lauren Groff is The New York Times–bestselling author of the novels The Monsters of Templeton, Arcadia, Fates and Furies, Matrix, and The Vaster Wilds, and the celebrated short story collections Delicate Edible Birds and Florida.
She has twice been a finalist for the Kirkus Prize, as well as for the National Book Critics Circle Award, the LA Times Book Prize, and the Orange Prize for New Writers. She was a Guggenheim Fellow, a Radcliffe Fellow, a Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin, and was named one of Granta's 2017 Best Young American Novelists. Her work has been featured in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and Harper's, in seven Best American Short Stories anthologies. Her books have been published in over 30 languages.
She has a BA from Amherst College and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her short stories have appeared in several literary publications, including The Atlantic Monthly and Ploughshares, and she has won fellowships to the Vermont Studio Center and Yaddo.
In 2024, Lauren opened The Lynx, a general-interest bookstore in Gainesville, Florida, with an emphasis on celebrating Florida writers, LGBTQ+ writers, writers of color, and books that have been challenged or banned in the Sunshine State.
